Proofmarks

A Proofmark records something Confrmo verified about a person at the time it happened. This page is the full list, with the rule each one is awarded on.

Three of them are different, and are marked as such: the Community ring holds things the holder told us rather than things Confrmo checked. They are separated rather than omitted so that every other mark on this page can be read as verified without qualification.

It is not a score. A Proofmark says what was checked and when; it says nothing about anything the holder has not chosen to show, and its absence says nothing at all.

The same definitions are published as JSON for anyone integrating against them.

Protect

How well defended the account itself is. These say nothing about what the holder has done, only about how hard they are to impersonate.

Prove

What the holder has shown, and to whom. Each one records a disclosure that actually happened, at the moment it happened.

Connect

Interactions that involved somebody else. These are the only marks where another party was present, which is why they are the only ones a colleague can ever be shown.

Community

Their own word, not something Confrmo checked. Neither LinkedIn nor Facebook will tell a product who follows its page, so these three record only that somebody pressed a button saying they do. They are kept in their own ring so that no Passport level can count them, and nothing else on this page has to share a sentence with them.

Levels

A level is the lowest row whose three requirements are all met. It is published here so that a level is an inspectable rule rather than a number the product asserts about somebody. The Community ring has no column, because no level counts it.
